Privacy policy

Short version: we collect what you type into the contact form, we use it to reply, we keep it for a limited time, and we do not run trackers. Last updated 3 September 2026.

Who we are

Maple Escape Play Studio Inc., Suite 410, 1090 Homer Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 2W9. We are the organization responsible for personal information collected through mapleescapeplay.com. Our privacy officer can be reached at privacy@mapleescapeplay.com or (604) 555-0128.

We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect, and why

  • Contact form: your name, email address, the topic you chose, an optional player count and your message. We use these to answer you, to send the Cabin Fever Kit if you requested it, and to arrange a team session if you asked for one. Consent is given by ticking the box on the form.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider records the IP address, approximate country, browser type and time of each request for security and to keep the site working. Form submissions store the IP address and country alongside the message for the same reason.
  • The games: nothing. The browser games run entirely in your tab and do not send answers, times or hint counts anywhere.

We do not use cookies, analytics scripts, advertising pixels, embedded fonts or any third-party scripts. There is no account system and no age gate because we never ask for a birthdate.

Retention

Contact messages and kit requests are kept for 12 months after our last exchange with you, then deleted. If you booked a hosted team session, the booking record and invoice are kept for 7 years to meet Canadian tax record requirements. Server logs are retained by our provider for up to 30 days.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. Our email and hosting providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments; some of that processing may take place outside Canada. We disclose information only if a law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to privacy@mapleescapeplay.com; we answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

Our games are made for families, but the contact form is meant for adults. If we learn that a child under 13 has submitted personal information without a parent's involvement, we delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page for at least 30 days.
